Kenneth Wayne Holmes was born and raised in Ohio. He left there to attend Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN in 1970. While helping Rev. Charles Mitchell in Quincy, IL, he met a young lady from this church at Camp Meeting, moved to Moline, and began attending our church in 1972. He married Joannie (Harper) on March 24, 1973. They have one son, Allan (Rachel) and four grandsons — Wyatt, Taylor, Garrett, and Jackson.

Ken led our cleaning ministry for over 20 years, worked bus route, taught Sunday school, taught bible studies, served as usher, grounds crew, and has been an Elder for many years. But, he is well known for his years of making peanut brittle for the church, taking a weeks vacation to spend in the kitchen with the crew, going through up to 500 pounds of peanuts. They currently serve as a CARE Minister, Usher, and Greeter.
